HIDE THE WORD
God's Word, the Bible, is a Living and Powerful Gift from God. Whenever we encounter and interact with it, we can expect it to have an effect on us. Whether we're studying a word, a verse, a chapter or a book of the Bible, there is treasure to be found when we approach with trusting faith (Heb. 4:2).
There is also a specific promise that if we memorize the Word (hide It in our hearts), it will give us strength for our Jesus-walk and greater victory over temptation and sin (Ps. 119:11). Because of this, at Calvary Chapel, we are committed to Memorizing God's Word. We do this by choosing a Memory Verse (or verses) to hide in our hearts each month. |
